Fran and her ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, co-hosted a fundraiser/cocktail party that brought in $40,000 for Love, Honor, Cherish and Equality California, two groups fighting Proposition 8.

People cover shows Clay Aiken: ‘Yes, I’m gay’; Lindsay Lohan ‘confirms’ to radio show

National Coming Out Day isn’t until Oct. 11, but two of Hollywood’s most-rumored stars — Clay Aiken and Lindsay Lohan — may be observing that rite of passage early today.

Internet reports beginning to circulate now feature a People magazine cover with an October date showing Aiken holding his newborn son, Parker Foster Aiken, underneath the headline “Yes, I’m gay: The ‘Idol’ star opens up about his emotional decision to come out.”

“I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things,” he’s quoted as saying on the cover.

Representatives from People have not yet returned calls to the Sun-Times. A statement from the magazine, however, was posted at mtv.com, saying only: “We can confirm that Clay Aiken and his son are featured on the next issue of People. For the complete story, please visit http://www.people.com at 7 a.m. [Wednesday].”

Rumors about Aiken’s sexuality have abounded since the singer was runner-up on the second season of “American Idol.” He’s rebuffed direct inquiries by everyone from Kelly Ripa to Diane Sawyer about the topic. Comedian Kathy Griffin habitually refers to him on her reality show in her routines as The Gayken.

Aiken, 29, previously told People: “What do you say [to the question of whether I’m gay]? … It’s like when I was 8. I remember something would get broken in the house, and Mom and Dad would call me in and say, ‘Did you do this?’ Well, it didn’t matter what I said. The only thing they would believe was yes. … People are going to believe what they want.”

Aiken just rejoined the cast of “Spamalot” on Broadway, in a run scheduled through Jan. 4.

In other closet-opening news, many online outlets are reporting that Lindsay Lohan has “confirmed” a lesbian relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson.

Lohan and Ronson rarely have been seen apart for several months, and they too have dodged direct questions about the nature of their relationship.

But Lohan called into the Los Angeles-based radio show “Loveline” last night to comment on the recent fatal plane crash that injured former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM. Host Ted Stryker asked Lohan how long she and Lohan had been “going out.”

“Like two years? One year? Five months, two months?” he asked.

Lohan chuckled, then said, “A long, a very long time.”

Stryker ended the conversation by saying, “Well, I hope you stay together. You are a very lovely looking couple.” Lohan thanked him.

Confirmation, it seems, is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder.

Lohan: “I Will Never Talk About Samantha”

Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan and her close friend Samantha Ronson have vowed never to talk about their relationship – insisting it is a “private matter”.

The pair has often been photographed holding hands and cuddling – leading to speculation that they are more than just friends.

DJ Ronson insists that the way their relationship has been documented in the media is often incorrect, but she refuses to clear up rumors they are a couple.

She tells U.S. magazine Harper’s Bazaar, “I stay away from the tabloids. I’m not going to talk about Lindsay because she’s my friend, you know? She’s great. She’s also 22 years old. I think people forget that.”

“With the Internet the way it is, one second we’re enemies, one second we’re best friends, one second we’re lovers, and then we’re broken up.”

And Lohan has also broken her silence about her relationship with the 31-year-old – but only to insist that she will never divulge any of their secrets.

Referring to her friend’s family, she says in an email to the publication, “I love the Ronsons. They’re close to my heart and I respect all the work they do. Samantha and my relationship is a private matter.”

Designer Michael Kors really wants to act….with hot young boys!

Kors is set to guest star in a new episode of Gossip Girl.

The episode will deal with New York’s Fashion Week, obvs.

Kors has already shot scenes this week at NY’s Capitale on the Bowery, where they also filmed a fashion show.

And of the Gossip Girl series, Kors says, “I love the clothes, everyone is good-looking, the plot line is a riot. I love the show. They called and said, ‘You are very Gossip Girl,’ I thought, ‘Finally, I am a teenager.’ ”

Kors added, “Probably to the consternation of certain people on the Upper East Side, they really get it. It’s a pretty clear picture of how a lot of these kids really are.”

That doesn’t say much about the Upper East Side does it?

Linsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson Return To L.A. Today

After a whirlwind trip to Miami to visit the Ronson family, Lindsay and Samantha were back in LA yesterday lookin’ like the Blues Brothers with their matching luggage and travel pillows, awww. Smart thinking girls, you never know what they’re going to charge you for on planes these days. While Lindsay’s parents kept fighting with Anderson Cooper, the ladies went straight to Barneys before bringing Sam’s car for a much-needed wash, and then off to dinner at Chateau Marmont. Lindsay’s come a long way since she was living at that hotel, and I’m betting the staff is a lot happier to see this cleaned up LL rather than the one who used to wreak havoc there.

Even the Jonas Brothers Forget Archuleta Exists

It’s hard to tell the Jonas Brothers apart sometimes, but here’s a hint: David Archuleta isn’t one of them.

Kevin, Joe and Nick were so happy about their Teen Choice Awards victories, they blogged about it on their MySpace page. They were particularly jazzed about their win for Most Fanatical Fans. The only problem is they didn’t win that award — David Archuleta did.

Spencer Pratt Killed Playgirl

Even the mere thought of Spencer Pratt posing nude was enough to kill Playgirl.

Rumors floated around the Internet last week Pratt was considering an offer to pose for the mag. It took a few days, but sure enough Playgirl announced yesterday they were shutting down the mag and only focusing on their web site.
